Austin Xu is an engineering manager at a Fortune-500 company in San Jose, CA, with 20 years in software engineering. He started as a junior engineer and rose to senior engineering manager, leading the cloud platform that supports $74B+ in GMV. He holds a master's degree from Zhejiang University. Austin is the #1 Claude Code user inside his Fortune-500 organization, where he has shipped MCP and Agent workflows into production and doubled his PR throughput. On the side, he has independently built 10+ AI systems spanning personal finance, growth tracking, and sports data. Outside of work he is a USTA national champion, a tennis and pickleball team captain, and an active member of the North American Chinese community — the same immigrant path as many of his students, just a step earlier onto the AI track.
